The Struggle Is Real

Hey Beautiful Ladies, and if there are any gentlemen that read this, haha! I am back and ready to get back at this blogging thing I like so much. It has been a whirlwind of a few weeks and before I knew it, it was and is April! Time flies when you’re having fun and are super busy, but back to the routine of things-ish! This week’s blog is titled “The Struggle Is Real!” Oh how many times have I heard this or even used this saying in my own life. When I got up on Friday morning I was dealing with some struggles in my mind, in my heart and physically. One being, I did not want to physically get up and get out of bed! Can I get an Amen! Haha!  Number two, I did not want to go outside and workout, at all. I had to tell myself, I can do this,  Hannah you can do this, Hannah get up and get to it! See the struggle. So, I threw on my work out clothes, tennis shoes, grabbed my head phones, and out the door I went. My head knew I needed to work out, but my heart wasn’t into it at all. Slowly, but surely, every step I took got easier and easier and the music started to inspired me. Then came the song that I ended up putting on repeat, “Broken Places” by Plumb on her Exhale album.

Like I had said, I was dealing with some things on my heart and in my mind. I was feeling like I wasn’t quite enough and wasn’t good enough. (Basically having a pity party in my mind, lol) The first thing I ended up doing during this workout was recognize that, that was a huge lie! We are more than enough because of who we are in Christ and who He wants us to be. We tend to get stuck in the worldly views and tend to forget that sometimes, hence the pity parties! I recently read a quote and it said, “There will always be someone who can not see your worth. Don’t let it be You!” So, I recognized the lie that the devil was trying to bring into my life and as the song began to play the first verse and chorus. This is when my mindset began to slowly change, and so did my heart. Here are the lyrics to the first verse and chorus that began to fill my mind and heart.

It says…
“I trust You to heal
I trust You to save
So I’ll trust You enough To get out of the way
To come where I am
To silence my doubt
So I’ll forfeit my plans
And let Yours play out
You are strong
In the broken places
I’m carried in Your arms
You are strong
In the broken places
There’s healing in these scars”

Those words touched my heart in such I way I began to feel strengthened! We have to remind ourselves who we are and who we belong to. John 10:10 says, “The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy but I have come that you might have life and life more abundantly.” So when “The struggle seems real”, in your life take the time to pause and remember that the devil is a liar and doesn’t want you happy or to succeed. He likes to see you fail and constantly struggling. Jesus says I have come that you may have life (a happy, amazing, successful one) and live more abundantly. So let all those fears and insecurities fade away and remember He is strong in the broken places and carries you in His arms. He is strong enough to heal your scars, if you let Him!

So needless to say, I am so glad I got up and worked out so I could get filled back up. So, I could attack the rest of the day! Well, after some coffee and I still kind of wanted to go back to bed! Hehe! The moral of today’s blog, is don’t let what is going on around you pull you down and don’t let the fears and insecurities take you over. Stand up and Be Fearless! War for yourself and the life God has for you! You are made in His image (Genesis 1:27) and have all the grace and style at the tips of your fingers! Don’t forget that! I love y’all and I love being able to share my ahh-ha moments with you. I hope they encourage you to stay strong and stay inspired on whatever journey of life you may be going through. We learn and inspire each other! (Iron Sharpens Iron) So, know today that YOU are more than enough and sometimes you just need to take a moment and a breath and be still and know that He is God!
XO,
Hannah Leigh
